What is Foreigner Registration?
All foreign nationals who stay in Korea for more than 90 days must complete Foreigner Registration in accordance with the Immigration rules and regulations in Korea. Once registered, foreign residents become eligible to access Korea’s public services and social security systems during their stay.
Application Deadline
You must visit the Immigration Office and complete your Foreigner Registration within 90 days from the date of your entry into Korea.
Failure to register within the required period may result in a fine. In addition, if you leave Korea while your registration application is still being processed, the application will be cancelled.
How to Apply
Foreigner Registration cannot be done online. You must first make an appointment through the HiKorea reservation system, then visit the Immigration Office in person to apply. At the beginning of each semester, Sogang University provides an on-campus group application service, which allows students to complete the process on campus instead of visiting the Immigration Office directly.
